BiographyHistory

Theatre director and dramatist.

Formerly Artistic Director of Melbourne’s St Martins Youth Arts Centre, Clare Watson took over from Kate Cherry as Artistic Director of the Perth-based Black Swan State Theatre Company in January 2017. Watson has also been Resident Director at Malthouse Theatre, Melbourne, and part of Melbourne Theatre Company’s Womens’ Directors Program, as well as a freelance director.

Watson was nominated for a Helpmann Award in 2015 for her direction of What Rhymes with Cars and Girls.
