BiographyHistory

Brian Peddie received a Bachelor of Arts with first-class honours from Murdoch University, and began as a writer, actor and musician with Desperate Measures Theatre in Fremantle in 1978. He subsequently founded the Deck Chair Theatre company with Di Shaw (q.v.) in 1983 where he worked as an actor, writer and director. Peddie was the Arts Centre Manager in Kwinana, Western Australia and Chair of the Community Arts Network (WA). He worked on the national Local Government and the Arts Task Force from 1989-1992, and later became a cultural events consultant, including for the Regional Arts New South Wales Audience Development Project. Peddie is the author with Andra Kins of Planning a Complete Community : A Cultural Planning Guide for Local Government (1996).
