BiographyHistory

Cascade Films is a Melbourne-based production founded in 1983 by filmmakers Nadia Tass and David Parker. The company has produced a series of acclaimed feature films, beginning in 1986 with Malcolm (which won 8 Australian Film Institute awards including Best Picture, Best Script and Best Director). Later films have included: Ricky and Pete (1988 ), The Big Steal (1990), Pure Luck (1991), Stark (1993), Mr Reliable (1996), Amy (1997), and Samantha: An American Girl Holiday (2004),

Cascade Films owns and operates the Melbourne Film Studio. In addition to a sound stage the complex comprises production offices which house permanent industry related tenants ranging from film and television producers, post production facilities, talent agents, music producers and casting agents. Feature productions that have been through the Melbourne Film Studio include The Man From Snowy River, Muriel's Wedding, Thin Red Line, Shine, Lightning Jack, Noah's Ark, Death in Brunswick, Moby Dick, Hercules Returns, Proof, Road Games, Quigley Down Under and Ned Kelly.
