BiographyHistory

Although a 'traditional, sober' publishing house (Tebbel 161) known for nonfiction, textbooks and illustrated children's book, Minton, Balch and Co developed 'a small literary list' (DLB). It published Alice Grant Rosman's novels (The Window, Visitors to Hugo, The Sixth Journey, Mother of the Bride, The Sleeping Child). In 1930 Balch merged with Putnam; the Minton, Balch imprint lasted until 1938.
