BiographyHistory

Originally from the UK, Vanessa Proctor travelled extensively before settling in Australia. She has a Masters degree in Creative Writing and has been HaikuOz Contact officer for Sydney. She first became interested in haiku while teaching English in Japan in the early 1990s. Her haiku have been published in Australia, Canada, Japan, New Zealand, the United Kingdom and the United States. Awards for her work include the Ritsumeikan University Peace Museum Award and the Kyoto Foundation Essay Award.
