BiographyHistory

Paschal Berry was born in Cebu in the Philippines and has lived in Australia since 1984. In 1996 he was awarded Company B Belvoir Street's inaugural Australian/Asian Young Playwrights Award for 'Defecating Jesus'. Berry wrote two plays for the Multicultural Alliance's 10x6 project; 'Conversation Through the Wall' (1997) and 'Ancestry of my Eyes' (1998). He has also written for the Canberra Choreographic Centre and has had works produced and broadcast by ABC Radio Drama. In 2000 Berry was selected for the Royal Court International Residency in London. From 2003 to 2005 he was the resident dramaturg at the Australian Choreographic Centre.
