Colleen's childhood was spent in Tumby Bay, after which she left home and trained as a nurse. She married a farmer and lived at Cockaleechie. They had 6 children. She has now come back 'to listen to the sea', and lives once again at Tumby Bay. She is interested in both writing and drawing, and so far has managed to combine both. She does the layout and sketches for the publications of the Cummins Creative Writers. She is concerned to preserve the history of the early settlers, and belongs to the National Trust branch at Tumby Bay. In addition to the work listed here, she has written some children's stories, has contributed to some family histories, and has published Dad's Letters (1995; copies of letters written by her father during WW2) , a history of St Andrew's Catholic Church, Cummins, Tumby Bay (for the National Trust), Memories (1998; drawings and history of the recently demolised jetty at Tumby Bay).
