Cleopatra was seventeen when she ascended the Egyptian throne, and she ruled as Queen Philopator and Pharaoh between 51 and 30 BC. Her brothers/husbands Ptolemy XIII and Ptolemy XIV formed a liaison with Gaius Julius Caesar that enforced her grip on the throne. After Caesar's assassination, Cleopatra entered into a relationship with Mark Antony and gave birth to twins.
