Adam Browne has studied physiology, filmmaking and short story writing. He has had numerous stories published in Australia and the US. Among the journals to accept his stories have been
HQ Magazine,
Orb Magazine and
NFG Magazine (Canada). Browne's stories have also been translated into Polish for publication in
Nowa Fantastyka and been included on the ideomancer.com website. Others have appear in various anthologies.
In 2001-2002 Browne was awarded three grants by Film Victoria for feature script development. He has twice won Emerging Writers grants from the Australia Council Literature Board.
Browne's short story 'Heart of Saturday Night', published online in
Lenox Avenue Ezine, was a finalist in the Fantasy Short Story section of the 2005 Aurealis Awards. He has also been shortlisted a number of times for the Aurealis Award for best short story, winning it in 2005 for 'The Weatherboard Spaceship.'
Browne has also written film scripts, including
Virus (2005) directed by Stephen Amis and starring Kerry Armstrong.
He lives in Melbourne with his wife Julie Turner, also a writer.
