Educated at Ashby School in Geelong, Abson was a bank officer and served in the 1st A.I.F. (1918). In addition to short stories and a novel he also wrote several radio comedies which were broadcast in Australia and New Zealand. He was a fellow of the Bread and Cheese Club, Melbourne.
