BiographyHistory

Rica Erickson was a teacher in country schools, a naturalist, a historian, and a farmer's wife. She is also an author/illustrator who has been honoured for her contributions to literature and botany.

Erickson's work in Western Australian history and historical cataloguing, including the genealogically invaluable Dictionary of Western Australians, is spoken of with great admiration.

Erickson received an AM in 1987 and was Citizen of Western Australia in 1980. She has been awarded a Hon D Litt by the University of Western Australia and has honorary life membership of many organisations.
