BiographyHistory

Black Swan Theatre Company was formed in 1991 by artistic director Andrew Ross under the chairmanship of Janet Holmes à Court. Black Swan has produced many critically acclaimed productions and co-productions including Bran Nue Dae, Tourmaline, Dead Heart, Corrugation Road (winner of the Age Critics' Award), The Merry-Go-Round in the Sea, and Cloudstreet.

Andrew Ross left the company in 2003 and Tom Gutteridge tooks up the reigns of artistic director in early 2004.
