BiographyHistory

Sydney Box was an English film producer, who with his then wife Muriel Box won an Academy Award in 1946 for The Seventh Veil. He retired to Western Australia in the late 1960s and published four novels during the years he lived in Perth.

Before coming to Australia, Box was a prolific author of plays, mostly written in conjunction with Muriel Box. Castles in Spain: A South-American Musical Romance (1939), which he wrote in conjunction with Montgomery Tully, was set to music by May Brahe (q.v.)
