BiographyHistory

'[Mark Roberts] established Rochford Street Press in 1983 initially in order to publish P76 magazine. From the beginning Rochford Street Press also had an overly ambitious book publishing strategy targeted at the works of young, progressive, politically aware writers. In the end, however, we only managed to produce a handful of titles - but at least we had a go ... Rochford Street Press was named after the street ... [Roberts] lived in while producing the first few issues of P76 (the complete address was 22 Rochford Street Erskineville NSW)' (Rochford Street Archives website: http://members.optusnet.com.au/~mroberts60/Rochford.html).
