Kate McClymont attended school first in Orange, and then Frensham School in Mittagong. She graduated with a BA (Hons) in English Literature from Sydney University in 1981.
She began working with Fairfax in 1985, and has broken a number of significant news stories: she is best known for her reporting on Eddie Obeid.
She has won a number of Walkley Awards, and was the recipient of the Danger Award's Lifetime Achievement Award in 2020.
