BiographyHistory

Australian cricketer.

Although best remembered as arguably the most stylish and versatile batsman of the golden age of cricket (ca. 1890-1914), Victor Trumper was also regarded as a more than competent rugby player. His involvement in that sport saw become one of the key figures in the breakaway movement that led to the founding rugby league in Australia in 1907. Trumper played 48 Test matches between 1899 and 1914 and also played 255 First-class matches during his career.
