Aboriginal artist who has illustrated many children's books by other authors. Elaine Russell's early life was spent on the mission at Murrin Bridge, near Lake Cargelligo on the Lachlan River. She moved to Sydney on her marriage, working in a variety of fields. Elaine Russell began studying and working in the visual arts in 1993. She is represented in various Australian collections.
