Christiane Conesa-Bostock was born in Lyon, France. Her mother, Jeanne Simoens, was French and her father, Ramon Conesa, was born in Spain but had lived in France from a young age.
Conesa-Bostock studied languages and as part of her studies she lived in Wokingham, UK as a French Assistante giving conversation classes with students. Later she migrated to Australia, settling in Tasmania, where she continues to live and teach.
Conesa-Bostock obtained a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) degree from the University of Tasmania, a Master of Arts in Literature and Communication from Murdoch University and a Doctorate of Teaching from the Charles Darwin University. She has taught French and Spanish at Rosny College, Tasmania. She has given several papers about her work in languages to international conferences and read her short fiction and poetry at the Tasmanian Writer's Union General Meeting in 1988, at Alice's Bookshop in 1989, 1990 and 1991 and at Alliance Française de Hobart in 1990.
