BiographyHistory

According to notes to the production of Euroka, James Penberthy had been a lieutenant in Royal Australian Naval Volunteer Reserve, and at the time at which he was asked to compose the music for Euroka, was 'a rehabilitation student at the University Conservatorium, doing piano and composition' ('Euroka', The Argus, 17 September 1947, p.3).
