BiographyHistory

Mary Lord began writing as a child. She published many radio plays, feature articles, theatre and book reviews, as well as the biography Hal Porter: A Man of Many Parts (1993) . Lord's literary career also included academia and librarianship, and the executive directorship of the National Book Council. She was a founding member of the Association for the Study of Australian Literature.
