BiographyHistory

George Redway founded the publishing firm bearing his name in Bloomsbury around 1882. Redway was a small, esoteric publisher of material relating to spiritualism and theosophy. In 1889 the firm George Redway became part of Kegan Paul, Trench, Trubner and Company Limited, an amalgamation organised by Horotio Bottomley. When Bottomley's Hansard Publishing Union failed, George Redway continued as a director in the firm Kegan Paul, Trench, Trubner and Company until 1895, when he resumed independent publishing until around 1899.
