In its political views ... it will be ever found a zealous supporter of the Altar and Throne. As a Journal of Literature and Science, The Australian Magazine will contain, besides a miscellaneous Collection of interesting Matter, including Poetry, Extracts from Travels, Voyages, etc and a Review of any Works that may be published in the Colony, a regular Report of any scientific Discovery which may be made, as well in Australia, as in Van Diemen's Land, New Zealand, etc and in the Mother Country.'
