BiographyHistory

Vanguard started as a philanthropic idea: to disseminate reading material to the working class (DLB). In the later 1920s/early 1930s Vanguard actively fought censorship. In the fall of 1988 Vanguard Press was sold to Random House.

As at 2020, Vanguard is an imprint of Pegasus Elliot MacKenzie Publishers.
