Ana Kokkinos practised as a solicitor, and worked as a researcher and as an industrial officer before entering the film industry. In 1990, through a Woman in Film and Television program, she wrote and directed her first two short films. The following year she completed the post graduate diploma in Film and Production, writing, directing and editing 'Antamosi.'
Ana Kokkinos is best known as a director and co-writer of her short feature film 'Only The Brave', with Mira Robertson and Fiona Eagger, produced in 1993-94. 'Only The Brave' enjoyed wide critical success and had theatrical release in Australia and America in 1995. 'Head On', co-written by Andrew Bovell and Mira Robertson, was Ana's debut feature film.
