'Born in Melbourne, Norman Campbell Thompson worked as a journalist for most of the time since leaving school. For a brief period he worked as an actor. In 1970 he travelled in the United States, Europe and Asia and lived for a while in London where he worked on Fleet Street. His poetry has been published in numerous magazines in Australia as well as New Zealand, Canada, Britain and South Africa. He has also read his poetry on the ABC radio station 6WF Perth. He is a regular reviewer of books for The Review. Three of his plays have been produced: Exit (1964), One Sunday (1967) and Links (London, 1970).' (from the blurb for Towards Another Hell)
