BiographyHistory

John Rae was a Victorian school teacher. In the 1860s he started a school at Ironbark, Bendigo, which was later absorbed into the public education system. Rae remained at Ironbark until 1886, when he was transferred to Port Melbourne State School. He retired from teaching in 1891. Further biographical details remain to be established.
