BiographyHistory

'Major Lin MacDonald was an officer of the A.I.F. from the inception of the war. He left with the first transport that sailed from Australia, and was with the 1st division in practically every battle in which that famous corps was engaged. As regimental Staff Officer and Commanding Officer, he had ample opportunity for observing the Digger, not only in action, but in his leisure moments, when many of the incidents he relates in Tales of the Soldiers' Pets occurred.'
