BiographyHistory

Francoise Chaimbault was born of a Polish mother and French father. Following a childhood in Poitou and the Loire region, she moved to Paris, where, unable to afford university studies, she worked as a secretary for nine years. She has lived in Brisbane, Perth, Noumea and Sydney. In 1980 she was accepted at Macquarie University as a mature-age student and studied part-time for a Bachelor of Arts degree in Philosophy and Sociology, which she completed in 1985. She has also studied Polish.
