Haya Husseini was born in Jerusalem, Palestine, grew up in Spain, studied in Britain, lived in Japan, Africa and Lebanon, and worked as a journalist in Jordan. She was awarded an Honours degree at Birmingham University and has completed a Diploma of Education at the University of Western Australia.
