BiographyHistory

Bob Taylor was a child migrant under the child immigration schemes of the mid twentieth century. He travelled to Fremantle, Western Australia, from Manchester, United Kingdom, in 1950. He was sent to Boys Town Bindoon north of Perth to live with the Christian Brothers and survived a childhood of hardship and deprivation. After working on vineyards and farms he joined the Forestry Department in Darwin, Northern Territory, and then applied for a job in national parks and worked as a ranger in Western Australian. Bob Taylor wrote poetry and also published a memoir Who am I (2011).
