BiographyHistory

Teresa Podemska-Abt was born in 1952 in Wrocław, Poland. In 1981 she emigrated to Australia and undertook a postgraduate Bachelor of Education and Master of Education at the University of Adelaide, graduating in 1987. She also holds an MA degree in Polish Philology (Theory of literature and Criticism) from the University of Wrocław and PhD degree in Indigenous Studies (Aboriginal Literature) from University of South Australia. Podemska-Abt has made her home in Adelaide where she continues to research, translate and publish on matters relating to Australian literature and migration.
