BiographyHistory

Elżbieta Chylewska was born in Szczecin, Poland in 1960 and emigrated to Australia in 1982. She works at the State Library of New South Wales. Chylewska has adapted Polish works for the stage, and has published poems in the Polish Australian periodicals Tu i tam (Here and There), Przegląd katolicki (Catholic Review) and Wiadomości polskie (Polish News). In 1994 she published a volume of poetry titled Apetyt na raj (Appetite for Paradise).
