Born in Seminara, Calabria, he migrated to Australia in 1952. After three months at Bonegilla camp he worked in Melbourne as a painter. In 1979 he was elected to the Victorian parliament, making part of his maiden speech in Italian. He is Consultore for the regional government of Calabria and is often heard on radio.
