Oriella Rigoni was born in Asiago, Vicenza, Italy. In 1978 she undertook a course for translators and interpreters at the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology and enrolled later in the Bachelor of Arts degree in Multicultural Studies at the Phillip Institute, Melbourne.
