BiographyHistory

Sergio Ubaldi studied foreign languages at Rome University while working as a tour guide. After a meeting with Don Dunstan, former Premier of South Australia, Ubaldi migrated to Australia in 1971. He studied at Flinders University and the South Australian Institute of Technology and was active in community affairs.

In 1983 he stood for the seat of Sturt as an Australian Labor Party (ALP) candidate and was narrowly defeated by the then sitting member, Ian Wilson. He has worked as a lecturer, editor and journalist and held membership of the South Australian Writers' Centre and the South Australian Multicultural Writers' Association.
