Meg Caraher 'grew up at the feet of Alan Marshall (I Can Jump Puddles). He was her friend and first editor' (Southern Write, Oct 2000 p 5). At the age of seventeen Meg went to Canada for twelve months on an exchange student scholarship, and on her return she combined professional acting with drama teaching and secretarial work. Her short story 'My House' won the Lyn Ann Simmonds Short Story Award in the FAW Awards, 1996.
