BiographyHistory

'Kitty' Phillips was educated at Presbyterian Ladies College and loved literature and the literary life, joining several literary and dramatic societies including a role as president of the Australian Poets and Poetry Lovers' Society, Melbourne, and founding the Melbourne Writers' and Literature-lovers Club. She claimed to have composed over 2000 poems. It seems that none of these were published in her lifetime but a collection was published posthumously. Her writing was experimental, claiming a mystical inspiration.
