Christiana Sebastiani gained a degree in education from the University of Perugia and has worked as a teacher. In Perugia she was the co-founder of a circle of litterati, in the tradition of literary circles where writers and artists exchanged ideas in discussions of literature and art. This circle often appeared on cultural programs of the TV station Telelibera. While still living in Italy, she travelled widely in Greece and in France. Married to the Italo-Australian sculptor, Diego Latella, she lived in Sydney, returning finally to Italy in 1985. She has won several literary prizes, including the San Marco Prize in Sorrento in 1980 and Special First Prize for Poetry in the Ungaretti International Competition in 1981.
Sebastiani has read her poetry on a number of occasions and has been a member of Amici dell'Umbria, the San Marco Academy of Art, Accademia Tiberina, the Society of Women Writers, the Australian Society of Authors and the Fellowship of Australian Writers (FAW). Her poetry and short stories have appeared in several periodicals, including Il Giornale di Nuovaera, Il Ponte, Settegiorni, La Fiamma, Il Globo, Aspect, Outrider, Without Barriers and You Too.
