BiographyHistory

Katherine Howell was raised in Sydney. After leaving school, she worked in various jobs, including as an animal handler and bookshop sales assistant, and went to university for a year to study science. She worked for many years as an ambulance officer, and draws on this experience in her crime novels, which feature ambulance officers as protagonists. She has a Master of Philosophy in creative writing from the University of Queensland, and began studying for a PhD in creative writing at UQ in 2010.
