BiographyHistory

Using his first name only, Plaistowe was the founder and leader of the Sparklers, a children's club founded in September 1944. 'Rex' worked at a radio station, 2TM in Tamworth, on which stories and poems submitted by members of the Sparklers Club were read out in radio segments such as 'Poet's Corner' and 'Tell Me a Story'.
