BiographyHistory

After a period in general practice Doctor Andrew Pattison saw a need to educate children about the role of doctors in health and illness, hence the publication of the Doctor Toby series. His interests in family health education led to An Apple a Day (1995), and men's health resulted in The M Factor (1998). He continued this role as a health educator in acting as medical commentator for radio 3AW in Melbourne, writing a medical column for the Age, and lecturing on men's health at Monash and Melbourne Universities. Pattison has also written a health information series for the web site of the North East Valley Division of General Practice (Victoria), enabling doctors to print them off for their patients.
