BiographyHistory

Stefania Kowalyk was born in the Ukraine in the 1920s. She studied singing at the Vocal Faculty of the Conservatoire, Lviv and also gained a Diploma in Industrial Chemistry. After World War II Kowalyk moved to Munich, Germany, where she studied Pharmacy. In Australia she has worked for Olex cables. Kowalyk pursued a love of music by joining the Ukrainian Musical Theatre in Melbourne and has been involved in concerts and multicultural festivals as well as releasing a popular record in Ukrainian in 1984, titled My Songs for You.
