BiographyHistory

Bozenna Kowalenko studied for one year at the University of Kiev. In Australia she studied Journalism at the Melbourne College of Advanced Education. She has been a member of the Ukrainian Canadian Writers Association 'Slovo', the Vasyl Symonenko Arts and Literary Club of Melbourne and the Ukrainian Women's Journalist Association in the USA. Some of her poetry has been set to music. Her work Vise Received won first prize in the 1973 M. Beck's Literary Competition in the United States. She has read her work during the Ukrainian Hour, Ethnic Radio 3ZZZ, between 1975 and 1978.
