Walter Cerquetti gained a degree in law in 1964, a diploma in stage production in 1967, a diploma in journalism in 1976, a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) degree from the University of Western Australia in 1981 and a diploma in Mime with Marcel Marceau in 1984. An actor from an early age, he appeared in the film Cuore with Vittorio de Sica, and later worked in theatre and radio in Rome. In Australia he has worked as a journalist, as a correspondent for Radio 3EA and as a producer and broadcaster for a weekly program on Radio 6UVS FM, Perth. He founded the Italian Arts Association of Western Australia and the Commedia dell'Arte Theatrical Company in Perth. He has been a member of the Italian Press Association, the Australian Journalists' Association, the Fellowship of Australian Writers and the Poetry in Motion Association. He has given public readings at many venues including the Dante Alighieri Society, Cafe Folklorico and Alexander Library Theatre, Perth, and Festival Agosto Corcianese, Perugia.
