BiographyHistory

Michael Shanley spent his childhood in Australia and joined the Royal Australian Airforce (RAF) in 1967. He was in No. 35 Squadron and flew transport craft in Papua New Guinea and Vietnam. Shanley resigned from the RAF in February 1974 and went to the Middle East where he flew for the Sultan of Oman until 1977.
