BiographyHistory

Poetry has always been Kay Argent's passion. As a child she regularly delved into her parents' volumes of Wordsworth, Longfellow and others. As staff reporter on an in-house magazine for a company, she had a regular poetry spot - 'Kay's Korner'. Argent has taught poetry in schools, written personalised greeting cards and was lyricist for a singing telegram company for several years. She has been a member of the Fellowship of Australian Writers (SA Branch) for more than 20 years, and held office for most of that time, including being treasurer for 10 years and President from 1992 to 1994. A Distinguished Member of the International Society of Poets, Argent was invited to their 1999 Symposium and Convention in America and while there was awarded an International Poet of Merit Award.
