BiographyHistory

Szymanski was raised in Ireland. A qualified nurse and a Fellow of the Royal College of Nursing, she worked as a Senior Sister with the Department of Veterans Affairs in Melbourne.

Szymanski has also written for radio, newspapers and magazines, and was editor of the Melbourne Irish News, An Nuacht, from its inception in 1985. She has lived in the mountains at Kinglake, north of Melbourne.
