BiographyHistory

Fr. Ted McGrath became a Missionary of the Sacred Heart. He was a military chaplain during the First World War and was awarded a Military Cross. With Miss Eileen O'Connor he founded Our Lady's Nurses for the Poor on 15th April 1913, at 35 Dudley Street, Coogee. This organisation cares for the poor and sick in their homes. In later years he became Chaplain at Mena House, East Melbourne.
