BiographyHistory

Sherry Atkinson has studied at Tranby Aboriginal College and Performing Arts at Eora College in Sydney and has modelled, acted, and worked in community radio. Atkinson was fostered out at a young age to a non-Aboriginal couple but left her foster family at the age of fifteen in search of her Aboriginal family.

Atkinson's story was recorded and transcribed in The Lost Children: Thirteen Australians Taken from Their Aboriginal Families Tell of the Struggle to Find Their Natural Parents (1989), edited by Coral Edwards and Peter Read.
