BiographyHistory

Elspeth Taylor's parents were Scottish and she was born in South Africa, but she has spent most of her time in Australia. She has always worked in the world of books, firstly with the production of an architectural and building periodical and afterwards in a library and bookshop. Her first literary effort - a humorous article on library subscribers - was accepted by the Sydney Morning Herald; since then she has written for other Australian and New Zealand publications but Second Thursday is her only novel.
